Brotato Item Sets: how to turn DLC content on or off

Updated 2026-11-02 · for 1.2.0.0

To turn DLC content off in Brotato, use Item Sets, a free feature added in Update 1.2. It lets you switch the content of each DLC and free update on or off, and you can get to it from the character selection screen.

What you can do with it

  • Play the original game: turn everything off for a vanilla run.
  • Remove only pets: turn off Paws & Claws and keep the rest.
  • Mix and match: keep the content you like and drop the rest, set by set.

Item Sets is part of the free update, so you don't have to buy Primal Dread to use it.

When it helps

Fewer sets in the pool means fewer things competing for shop slots. If you're chasing a specific item, or you find the full pool too random, try it with one set off. We haven't measured how much it changes the odds, so treat that as a reason to experiment and not as a proven tip.

What we don't know yet

  • Whether achievements behave differently with sets turned off
  • Whether unlock tasks still count, and exactly which content sits in each set

If you've tested it, tell us in the forum.
