Privacy policy
[DRAFT — founders: fill in the legal entity, address and the ad network's name once chosen; have it checked before ads go live.] Last updated: 31 October 2026.
Who we are
Brotator (brotator.com) is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY / NAMES], [ADDRESS]. Contact: hello@brotator.com.
What we collect
- Nothing by default. The site is static; reading pages sends only the standard requests your browser makes to our hosting provider, which keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) for security.
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you accept cookies we load Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to count visits and see which pages are useful. Legal basis: consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).
- Advertising, only with your consent. When ads are enabled, our advertising partner [AD NETWORK] and its demand partners may set cookies and process your IP address and device identifiers to show and measure ads. Where you decline, ads are non-personalised or not shown. Legal basis: consent.
- Local preferences. Your cookie choice and interface preferences are stored in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
- Forum. If you post, we store your text, a random browser key (hashed) so your nickname and votes stick to this browser, and your IP address for abuse prevention (kept with the browser record, used only for blocking). No account, no email. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running and moderating a public forum.
- Email. If you write to us we keep the thread as long as needed to answer and for our records.
Cookies
See the cookie page for the list. You can change your choice any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information: use the cookie settings link to decline advertising cookies, or email us. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. To exercise any right, email hello@brotator.com; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Data transfers and retention
Hosting, analytics and advertising providers may process data outside the EU under standard contractual clauses. Analytics data is retained for 14 months; server logs for 30 days.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and show the date above.
