Gladiator: Six Different
Danger 5Mediumfor 1.2.0.0 · updated 2026-11-03
Gladiator gets +20% Attack Speed for every different weapon. Six different melee weapons turn a -40% penalty into +80% overall, so you merge duplicates and never let two slots hold the same weapon.
Stat priority
Weapons
| Weapon | Copies | Role | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hatchet | 1 | starter | Quick, and also scales with Attack Speed, which you have plenty of. |
| Sword | 1 | core | Strong damage for its speed. |
| Hammer | 1 | core | The big hit, scaling with up to 200% Melee Damage. |
| Spear | 1 | core | Reaches enemies far beyond the others. |
| Quarterstaff | 1 | core | Steady damage from Melee Damage. |
| Thief Dagger | 1 | tech | Fast, and takes the sixth slot cheaply. |
Items
| Item | Priority | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Spider | must | +6% Attack Speed per different weapon, so up to +36%, plus Damage. Unlocked by winning with Gladiator. |
| Mastery | should | +6 Melee Damage on a melee-only character. |
| Mammoth | should | +20 Melee Damage and some regen. |
| Big Arms | should | A large Melee Damage boost. |
| Warrior Helmet | nice | Armor and Max HP for standing close. |

Run plan
Early (waves 1–6)
Buy any melee weapon you don't own yet. Reaching six different comes first, even at low tiers.
Mid (waves 7–14)
To upgrade, buy a copy of a weapon you own and merge it straight away, so you're back to six different.
Late (waves 15–20)
Merge the Hammer and Sword first. Spend level-ups on Melee Damage, then defence.
Why it works
- You can't equip ranged weapons, so every Melee Damage point works on all six slots.
- Luck is -30, so don't count on Luck items or rare shop rolls.
- This is a plan worked out from the character's stats, so tell us in the forum if your runs say otherwise.
See the Gladiator page for the full stat line and unlocks.
