Hunter: Long Shot
Danger 5Easyfor 1.2.0.0 · updated 2026-11-03
Hunter gets +100 Range and +1% Damage for every 10 Range, and every Crit Chance bonus is 25% stronger. Crossbows use Range, Ranged Damage and Crit together, so nearly every point you buy works twice.
Stat priority
Weapons
| Weapon | Copies | Role | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crossbow | 6 | starter | Scales with Ranged Damage and Range. Six also complete the Precise and Medieval sets, for +15% Crit Chance, +3 Armor and +6% Dodge. |
Items
| Item | Priority | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Ashes | must | +100 Range, +20% Damage and +20% Attack Speed. Take it whenever you see it. |
| Night Goggles | must | +50 Range and +15% Crit Chance, the two stats this build wants. |
| Banner | should | Range and Attack Speed for a fair price. |
| Glasses | should | Cheap +20 Range, which is also +2% Damage on Hunter. |
| Poisonous Tonic | should | Attack Speed, Crit Chance and Range together. |
| Scope | nice | Range and Ranged Damage if you can absorb the Attack Speed loss. |
Avoid
- Cyclops Worm — -12 Range works against your Damage bonus.
- Blindfold — The Crit Chance is nice, but -15 Range takes it back.
Run plan
Early (waves 1–6)
Take a Crossbow, buy a second, and take Range from level-ups.
Mid (waves 7–14)
Build towards six Crossbows and stay near the walls so enemies have to cross your range.
Late (waves 15–20)
Merge up and add Dodge. Max HP bonuses are reduced by 33%, so avoiding hits works better than having more health.
Why it works
- Every 10 Range adds 1% Damage, so Range items also count as damage items.
- Harvesting bonuses are reduced by 100%, so ignore them.
- This is a plan worked out from the character's stats, so tell us in the forum if your runs say otherwise.
