Brotato Primal Dread new characters: the list and how to unlock them

Brotato Primal Dread adds 10 new characters, and the developers have named 6 of them so far. They say they'd rather you discover the rest yourself, so we won't guess at the other 4. The unlock conditions haven't been published either, and we add each one as soon as it's documented.
The new characters so far

| Veteran | A one-potato army used to fighting swarms with no time to heal |
| Archeologist | Digs up crates from dig sites and gets stronger with every crate |
| Poacher | Marks a hunting zone. Kills inside it make it much stronger but drop less money |
| Arsonist | A fire build, shown with a Molotov and flaming brass knuckles |
| Caveman | Built around Primitive weapons, which hit harder under a condition |
How do you unlock the new characters?
We don't know yet, and we'd rather say so than make something up. Here's what past DLC suggests, which is only a pattern and not a confirmed rule: the Abyssal Terrors characters each have their own unlock task, such as the Hiker's "walk a total of 20000 steps". What winning with them gets you
There's one new achievement per new character, for winning a run with them on any map. They're kept separate from the base game's achievements, so your old 100% isn't affected.
Which one should you try first?
Nobody can rank them properly yet, because the numbers aren't documented. Our tier list gets a new version once they are. Until then, pick the idea you like best: the Time Shifter, the Veteran and the Archeologist are the three the developers chose to show off in their launch post.
