Creature guide — how to play Creature in Brotato
Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws
Weapons scale with Curse, and the whole run bends around cursed enemies. Our tier list puts Creature in S tier: Curse scaling turns every cursed enemy into a payout and the kit never runs out of targets.
The stat line
- Weapon damage additionally scales with 35% Curse
- You start with 1 cursed Fish Hook
- +1 Curse when you level up
- -10 Range at the end of a wave
- -5% XP Gain at the end of a wave
Creature comes with the Abyssal Terrors DLC. Unlock: Unlocked by default. Winning a run unlocks Barnacle.
How the run plays
Weapon damage gains 35% Curse scaling and you gain +1 Curse every level, so Curse items are damage items here. Cursed enemies hit harder and drop more, which makes the Creature a strong economy pick in co-op with a Sailor to punish the cursed crowd. The -10 Range per wave end forces melee-range play late.
Weapons
Creature fits the Blade or Ethereal classes best. Start with Chopper, Ghost Scepter and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Blade class with per-tier damage.
What to buy, what to skip
Curse-tag items, Max HP, Armor. Abyssal Terrors only.
The shop favours Curse, XP Gain items for Creature, so expect to see these often: Corrupted Shard, Scar, Celery Tea, Fish Hook, Black Belt, Peacock, Black Flag, Bean Teacher.
The mistake that ends runs
Ignoring Max HP; cursed enemies hurt and the range loss drags you into them.
Co-op partners
- Sailor — Creature's curse keeps the arena full of cursed enemies. Sailor's naval weapons punish exactly those.
