Gangster guide — how to play Gangster in Brotato
Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws
Steal one item per shop; the price is an elite that may follow you in. Our tier list puts Gangster in C tier: Stealing spawns elites. High variance.
The stat line
- Can steal 1 item per shop
- Stealing from the shop can spawn an elite
- All future elites and bosses become stronger when you kill an elite or a boss
- +20% Items Price
- Can't lock items
Gangster comes with the Abyssal Terrors DLC. Unlock: Reroll 10 times in a single shop. Winning a run unlocks Grenade Launcher.
How the run plays
One free item per shop, with a chance that the theft spawns an elite in the next wave. Each elite you kill makes future ones stronger, so the run is a rising bet. +20% item price otherwise. Pair with a Jack who wants elites and the theft becomes a team income.
Weapons
Gangster fits the Gun or Blade classes best. Start with Pistol, Revolver, SMG, Double Barrel Shotgun and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Gun class with per-tier damage.
What to buy, what to skip
Steal the most expensive useful item each shop; buy Max HP and Armor with real materials.
The shop has no favoured tags for this character.
The mistake that ends runs
Stealing in the early waves before you can kill an elite.
Co-op partners
- Jack — Gangster's thefts spawn elites. Jack deals bonus damage to elites and takes bonus materials from them.
- Loud — More enemies means more drops, and the economy character turns the extra materials into shops for the whole team.
- Builder — An economy partner keeps materials dropping while the builder leaves them on the ground.
