Renegade guide — how to play Renegade in Brotato

Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws

Extra projectiles and pierce, with Tier I items as damage. Our tier list puts Renegade in C tier: Dodge and speed on a thin frame.

The stat line

  • +2 projectiles
  • Projectiles pierce through 1 additional target
  • +10% Damage for every different Tier I item you have
  • You can't equip melee weapons
  • -400% Damage
  • -50% accuracy
  • % Damage modifications are reduced by 80%

Unlock: Get 10 different tier I items during a run. Winning a run unlocks Fairy.

How the run plays

+2 projectiles and +1 pierce on every ranged weapon, +10% Damage per different Tier I item, and no melee. Damage is reduced heavily to balance the projectile count, so the Tier I item collection is the real scaling: cheap, varied, lots of them. Shotgun-style weapons multiply the projectile bonus.

Weapons

Renegade fits the Gun class best. Start with Pistol, Revolver, Shredder, SMG, Laser Gun, Medical Gun and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Gun class with per-tier damage.

What to buy, what to skip

Many different Tier I items, Ranged Damage, Max HP.

The mistake that ends runs

Buying Tier III items early; they do not count and they cost the Tier I budget.
