Speedy guide — how to play Speedy in Brotato

Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws

Speed is melee damage, and standing still is deadly. Our tier list puts Speedy in C tier: Speed into damage. Fun, capped by how fast you can actually move.

The stat line

  • +30% Speed
  • +1 Melee Damage for every 2% Speed you have
  • -100 Armor while standing still
  • -3 Armor

Unlock: Reach +50% Speed. Winning a run unlocks Fin.

How the run plays

+30% Speed and +1 Melee Damage per 2% Speed turn every speed item into a damage item; -100 Armor while standing still means you never stop. Fast melee weapons that hit while running fit the kit.

Weapons

Speedy fits the Blade or Unarmed classes best. Start with Fist, Claw and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Blade class with per-tier damage.

What to buy, what to skip

Speed, Melee Damage, Max HP, Dodge.

The shop favours Speed items for Speedy, so expect to see these often: Terrified Onion, Beanie, Compass, Clockwork Wasp, Saltwater, Medal, Fin, Power Generator.

The mistake that ends runs

Stopping to fight the boss; Speedy fights in orbit.
