Technomage guide — how to play Technomage in Brotato
Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws
Elemental damage speeds up structures, and structures grant elemental damage. Our tier list puts Technomage in S tier: Elemental damage feeds structures and structures feed elemental damage. The loop is self-sustaining by wave 10.
The stat line
- You start with 2 Turret
- +5% Structure attack speed for every permanent 1 Elemental Damage you have
- +2 Elemental Damage for every 1 Structure you have
- +75% XP required to level up
- Melee Damage modifications are reduced by 100%
- Ranged Damage modifications are reduced by 100%
Unlock: Reach 10 Elemental Damage and get 3 structures at the same time. Winning a run unlocks Particle Accelerator.
How the run plays
+5% structure attack speed per permanent Elemental Damage and +2 Elemental Damage per structure make a loop: turrets and elemental items feed each other. Starts with two turrets. XP costs 75% more and melee/ranged are zero, so it is turrets plus elemental weapons, nothing else.
Weapons
Technomage fits the Elemental or Tool classes best. Start with Wrench, Screwdriver, Plank, Torch, Lightning Shiv, Taser and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Elemental class with per-tier damage.
What to buy, what to skip
Structures, Elemental Damage, Max HP, Engineering.
The shop favours Elemental Damage, Engineering, Structure items for Technomage, so expect to see these often: Pencil, Book, Landmines, Turret, Charcoal, Duct Tape, Toxic Sludge, Mutation.
The mistake that ends runs
Non-elemental weapons; they deal nothing.
Co-op partners
- Streamer — Every structure on the field feeds the structure-bonus passive.
- Old — A smaller arena keeps turrets in range of everything.
- Chef — Burn spreads across the arena. The burn-bonus character hits everything that is on fire.
