Vampire guide — how to play Vampire in Brotato

Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws

Missing health is damage, life steal and armour. Our tier list puts Vampire in A tier: Life steal that scales with damage. Needs attack speed, then self-sustains.

The stat line

  • +2% Damage for every 1% of missing health
  • +1% Life Steal for every 3% of missing health
  • +1 Armor for every 5% of missing health
  • Max HP modifications are reduced by 25%
  • -60% Damage
  • -100 HP Regeneration
  • -100 HP recovered from consumables

Unlock: Reach +40% Life Steal. Winning a run unlocks Decomposing Flesh.

How the run plays

+2% Damage, +1% Life Steal per 3% and +1 Armor per 5% of missing health: the Vampire is strongest at low health and regenerates through hits. Max HP modifications are reduced, so the pool stays small and the 'missing' fraction swings quickly. Fast weapons keep life steal flowing.

Weapons

Vampire fits the Blade or Unarmed classes best. Start with Fist, Claw and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Blade class with per-tier damage.

What to buy, what to skip

Attack Speed, Life Steal, Armor, Melee or Ranged Damage.

The shop favours Life Steal items for Vampire, so expect to see these often: Bat, Fresh Meat, Butterfly, Decomposing Flesh, Whetstone, Blood Leech, Mouse, Ritual.

The mistake that ends runs

Healing to full; a full Vampire has none of its bonuses.
