Farmer guide — how to play Farmer in Brotato
Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws
Harvesting with extra compounding; the richest potato by wave 20, if it survives wave 8. Our tier list puts Farmer in B tier: Harvesting scaling. Wins by wave 20 if it survives wave 8.
The stat line
- +20 Harvesting
- Harvesting increases by an additional 3% at the end of a wave
- +1 Harvesting when eating a consumable while at full health
- -50% materials dropped
Unlock: Reach +200 Harvesting. Winning a run unlocks Wheat.
How the run plays
+20 Harvesting and an extra +3% harvesting growth each wave make the Farmer the purest economy character. Eating a consumable at full health adds +1 Harvesting. Enemy materials are halved, so waves 1–7 are poor and dangerous; after that the compounding carries the shop.
Weapons
Farmer fits the Primitive or Tool classes best. Start with Spear, Stick, Torch, Quarterstaff, Screwdriver, Wrench and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Primitive class with per-tier damage.
What to buy, what to skip
Harvesting until wave 8, then Max HP and a damage stat hard.
The shop favours Harvesting, Consumable items for Farmer, so expect to see these often: Fertilizer, Lemonade, Peaceful Bee, Weird Food, Wheelbarrow, White Flag, Fruit Basket, Little Frog.
The mistake that ends runs
Buying harvesting past wave 12; by then it cannot pay itself back.

- Loud — More enemies means more drops, and the economy character turns the extra materials into shops for the whole team.
