Lucky guide — how to play Lucky in Brotato

Updated 2026-11-01 · for v1.1 + Paws & Claws

Luck is damage, drops and rarity at once. Our tier list puts Lucky in A tier: Luck is damage, drops and rarity at once. The run snowballs from wave 1.

The stat line

  • +100 Luck
  • Luck modifications are increased by 25%
  • +75% chance to deal 1 (15%Luck) damage to a random enemy when you pick up a material
  • -60% Attack Speed
  • -50% XP Gain

Unlock: Collect 300 materials. Winning a run unlocks Lucky Charm.

How the run plays

+100 Luck with a 25% modifier and a luck-scaled hit on material pickup make Lucky scale from wave 1 just by collecting. Attack speed is -60%, so weapons matter less than the pickup hits early. Ranged weapons that fire slowly but hard fit the attack speed penalty.

Weapons

Lucky fits the Gun or Elemental classes best. Start with Plank, Torch, Wand, Icicle and hold six weapons of one class for the set bonus; the weapons list shows everything in the Gun class with per-tier damage.

What to buy, what to skip

Luck items, Harvesting, Pickup Range, Max HP.

The shop favours Luck, Pickup, Exploration items for Lucky, so expect to see these often: Bag, Lumberjack Shirt, Tree, Baby Gecko, Baby Elephant, Alien Tongue, Cute Monkey, Lost Duck.

The mistake that ends runs

Buying attack speed to fix the penalty; buy Luck and let pickups do the damage.

Co-op partners

  • Loud — More enemies means more drops, and the economy character turns the extra materials into shops for the whole team.
  • Druid — Druid's fruit drops feed luck. Lucky's luck feeds drops. Both scale off the same shared pool.
  • Multitasker — The shared economy pays for a character whose shops are unusually expensive.
